Valentine’s Day is a special day for couples to celebrate their love for each other.  But what exactly is being celebrated? The beginnings of a new relationship where the hands and the libido seem the work in overdrive?…or is it the more established kind of love where both of you have been committed to one another for years.  This is more a companionship type of love where you are there for the long haul. This type of love is not always easy. It takes a lot of hard work and with such a high divorce rate in the U.S. and Canada, the picture of two very old people holding hands walking slowly down the street will soon be seen only in history books.

True love is feeling the other person’s heartbeat along with your own, being able to finish each others sentences. Looking into the eyes of the other and knowing just knowing what that person is all about and you love them all the more for their hang-ups and quirkiness. And you blend like you are one. You almost feel like you are soul mates.

Unconditional love is when besides the good stuff you know about all the faults and mistakes and trials and all the bad and you love them anyways.  That is unconditional love. This type of love you can’t buy, you can’t bribe.  It doesn’t come with chemistry or you can’t find it staring into their eyes looking for their soul. Unconditional love comes deep down from your own heart center.  If you go down to the middle of your ribcage where your heart is just to the left; deep, deep down there is where your intuition comes from.  Some people call it their gut feeling.  That is your heart center.  In there is where unconditional love comes from.  When you release that powerful love, no matter what happens, the saying “Love Conquers All” comes true.

 Smile me a sunrise
 Of love shining true
 Sing me a daydream
 Of hugs surrounded by you
Love me a new day
 Which I’ll never forget
 Paint me a rainbow
 With lasting effects
Hand me a moment of magic
 To keep within my heart
 Kiss me a love song,
In my soul it will impart.
Touch me a moment of love
 With you who I adore
 Join me in a memory
 To keep forever more

Happy Valentine’s Day!
