I was in the middle of decorating my Christmas tree when I decided to take a break and check my emails.  Just so happens my sister sent me a video about counting your blessings for Christmas.  She is such a strong woman I thought.  She just lost her husband 10 months ago, and here she is sending this out to everyone to remind them of what Christmas really means and to count there blessings.  It was a beautiful narration that would bring tears to anyone’s eyes living in the western world.

It just so happened that yesterday I was in a discussion about good deeds.  Not that we should count our good deeds, just have you done a good deed today.   The discussion also continued with what were some good deeds you have done in the past or are planning in the future.  The emphasis was on the feeling of joy in your heart when you help someone or put a smile on someone’s face.  Just smiling and saying hello or complimenting a stranger.  Letting someone ahead of you in line for the cash because they have less items then you do.  Helping an elderly person cross the street, helping a neighbor shovel their driveway, or  stop to help someone with car problems.  I can go on and it doesn’t have to cost you money nor your time if you don’t have neither.  What you will gain though is a tremendous feeling of joy in your heart that you will want to make a habit, because you will never want to lose that warm glow that shines from your heart.

This time of year can be hard on many people, especially this year.  I, myself, was feeling a bid down for a few days, however, I put together 2 boxes of gently used clothing for charity, and walked around and delivered Christmas cards to some new neighbors.  Afterwards I felt so much better, and walked home with a smile on my face.

So remember to count your blessings, and give thanks every day.  You do have the spirit of the season within you.  When in doubt, go do a good deed.  Feel the joy come back into your heart!

Seasons Blessings!!
